According to the folks at TorkLift, the # TLA7700L battery box would be considered water resistant, not waterproof, as all batteries need to be able to vent. The don't offer a battery box that's 100% waterproof for that reason. My TorkLift rep tells me that they've received feedback from customers that have used self-stick weatherstripping on the lid of the box to help seal it which works well to keep water away from the wiring connections at the terminal. When wiring two 6-volt batteries in series you can use 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1.

If you want to lock the box you would have to fabricate something, possibly using a padlock like part # RM-305. That would require drilling into the box lid and cabinet and may not be the best option.

If you are using a 12V battery on your popup camper you will need to ground the battery to the trailer frame. Since you said you are charging the battery with a solar panel you will not need to attach the battery to the trailer connector.

There is a simpler way than a generator, as this would be difficult, and most generators that have a 12 volt outlet require that only to be used for battery charging. So I recommend a standalone battery on your enclosed trailer, and I'm sure you can find somebody to do it for you, yes. You'll need to utilize local resources though to find someone such as a local handyman possibly or some other individual comfortable with wiring.

When checking fuses, did you check the fuse box under the hood, as well? There are fuses in the power distribution box, the lid of the box provides a diagram showing which fuse protects which circuit. I'd look for a circuit marked Trailer Charge or Trailer Auxiliary Power, and replace the fuse if it's missing or blown.

Torklift uses both stickers and thin aluminum plates with a sticker affixed to it. Either is fairly easily removed. The plates are a little harder to remove. I've had good luck removing that kind of thing by applying low heat from a heat gun or blow dryer to the label to soften the adhesive then using a piece of fishing line. When Wiring the Hopkins Engager # 20099, the the black wire coming off the battery box would be wired to your trailers 12v auxiliary power lead. This will keep a charge on the brakeaway battery anytime the trailer is in use. I would not recommend wiring the charge line to your side lights. I would be concerned that the side light wire may not provide a complete, effective charge to the battery while also properly powering the lights. Ok, we can give you some guidance on this, and the best way to power up interior lights in your enclosed trailer is with an independent 12 volt battery mounted directly on the trailer.
